Elegant Doom Exists

I don't know what it is, but it's there.  Elegant Doom, your home for all kinds of ridiculous nonsense, is up and running.  We're using it as a sort of compost heap for all of our ideas that don't really belong anywhere else.  The Laws of Fashion are going up there, and soon we'll have a section called Stupid Google tricks or something to that effect (now that I look, there's actually already a page called that out there, so I'll probably call it something else).  We also make up fake rumors about celebrities.  It's all very dumb, I know, but I like it.  Because I'm dumb.

Post-Apocalypse is on a Roll

And I don't even mean a Rick Roll.  We've started getting cards from friends, and now we're posting.  Which is the jam.  The scanner that we're using sucks, but we've got five cards up, and another will be up soon.  Go check it out.

Also, These Go To Eleven has now had well over 50,000 pageviews.  That's just stupid.

Elegant Doom is coming soon.  Hopefully by next week there will be something to point and laugh at up on it.

These Go To Eleven got Read

Since the Gary Gygax post Friday, These Go To Eleven has had more than 30,000 visitors.  Which is utterly dumb.  Nobody should listen to anything that Broken Brain says.  The traffic is still coming, but now it's going to Preston Mantooth's post on silly Black Metal logos.  Anyway, this is really the first thing that we've done here that could be reasonably called a "success," and for that I'm genuinely grateful to all of the people who went to the site and read it.  Mostly, though, I'm grateful to Stumbleupon for sending us all that sweet traffic.  According to popurls.com, the post was number 3 on all of Stumbleupon for several hours Friday, which is about the coolest thing in the world.  Brain has been more insufferable than usual.

News

  • Post-Apocalypse has a card up.  BaBAM!  All of the info for sending us cards is up on the site now, too, which will hopefully mean that we'll start getting them regularly soon.  Hopefully.
  • Night games is running, and Manhunt is starting back this week.
  • These Go To Eleven has a lot of content coming really soon, and we're supremely stoked about that.
  • The Hiking Pole should have content coming at some point, as the season is closing in on me.

Announcing our latest project: Post-Apocalypse.org

I really don't think that I've ever been this excited about a development project.  This is one that I'm actually doing myself with Jarrett Butler, a local artist and good friend.  It's Post-Apocalypse.  It's kind of like PostSecret, except way, way cooler.  We're having people send us postcards from the future.  Or, at least what they imagine our post-apocalyptic future will be.  Zombies, nuclear winter, viral outbreak, bad dragon movie, whatever.  Nav over to Post-Apocalypse.org and check out what's going on.  We haven't started actively promoting it yet, as we're going to wait until we've got some postcards done and up there.  For now, we're having friends and heroes make some.  If you want to play with us, drop an email to creativeselfloathing@gmail.com, and I can give you the information for sending a card.
